Obituary for Barbara Jean Patten (Dagel)
Barbara J. Patten, age 80, a resident of Danbury passed away on June 23, 2022.
Barbara was born on December 16, 1941 in Lake Park, Iowa to Floyd and Fern (Slater) Dagel.
In Barbs early years she married Harold Johnson where they share children Mick, Steve and Sue. She later in life remarried David Patten. They spent many wonderful years together flipping houses and exploring nature.
Barb and 4 close friends created the “239 Club”, adding up all their ages. They spent time enjoying each other’s company talking about life and having girl time. she was active and enjoyed gardening, tending to her beautiful flowers, fishing, and pontooning.
Let us not forget the camping, campfires, blueberry picking and donuts cookouts with the grandchildren.
She grew up loving animals. Dogs were her best friends throughout her life and Marnie was by her side until the end.
Her daughter and close friend Marie were present to help be caregivers in the difficult times and Sue along with her 4 siblings was lucky enough to be by her side when she passed in her little house in the woods!
She was preceded in death by her husband, David and her parents, Floyd and Fern.
She leaves behind her children, Sue (Mark) Rohr, Steve (fiancé, Jeanne Hahn) Johnson, and Mick (Tracy) Johnson; her grandchildren, Kirsten (Eric) Bostwick, Lars (Regan) Johnson, Heather Johnson, and Matt Chermack; her sister, Marilyn Criley; brothers, Larry (Renee) Dagel, David (Virginia) Dagel, and Dan (Karen) Dagel; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 8, 2022, at 3:00 PM (visitation 1-3) at Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home, Webster.
