Obituary for Constance Hunt (Djock)

Constance (Connie) Hunt (Djock) gained her angel wings on March 12, 2022 at Christian Community Home in Osceola, WI. She was 92 years old. Connie was one of the most genuine, kind-hearted women to ever walk this earth. Our family was blessed to have her in our lives for so many years.

Connie was born on April 28, 1929 and was the first child of Stanley and Hazel Djock (Johnson) of Siren, WI. After graduating from high school, Connie attended MacPhail Center for Music in Minneapolis. Connie was very talented and enjoyed singing and playing the organ. She sang at many weddings and other events through the years. Connie married the love of her life, Gene Hunt, in 1947. Together they raised three daughters: Jeanine, Linda (Anton), and Denell (Belle Isle). They were happily married for 37 years before Gene passed away. Despite the loss she suffered, Connie lived life to its fullest. She was extremely active in her church and community. A long standing member of St. Dominic Catholic Church, Connie sang in the church choir, served on
the Parish Council, was an active member of CCW, a money counter, a Catechism teacher and a greeter. Connie was also a devoted volunteer at the Siren Elementary School for many years, an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary, a Red Cross Blood Bank volunteer, a Siren Election Board volunteer, and past president of the Burnett County American Cancer Society.

She was a wonderful cook and made holidays (and everyday) special for her loved ones. She liked spending time with family and friends, going to plays, traveling, reading, and crafts such as knitting, crocheting, and decorating Ukrainian eggs. Her children and grandchildren have fond memories of time spent learning and enjoying those hobbies alongside Connie over the years.

Being a mother and grandmother was arguably Connie’s most important achievement in life. Not a day went by where she didn’t talk about how much her family meant to her. Her family was her pride and joy. Her positive attitude and sense of humor made her a joy to be around. She gave her all to family and friends. We will never be able to fill the void left by her absence. She leaves behind a legacy of character, faith, kindness, and love.

Connie joins her loving husband, Gene; her beloved daughter, Jeanine; her parents, Stanley and Hazel Djock; her brother, Ronald Djock; and her sister, Mary Ann Kranz in Heaven. She is survived by many loving family members, including her daughters Linda Anton and Denell Belle Isle; her precious grandchildren, Chris Anton, Kim Wambolt, Mikal (Mystie) Anton, Jeanine (Corey) Brunclik, Janessa (Mike) Lowe, and Jordan (Andrea) Belle Isle; 17 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren; siblings Charles Djock, Diane (Vance) Johnson, Bruce (Linda) Djock, Terri (Gene) Ackland; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Frederic, WI on Friday, June 24, 2022. The family will greet visitors from 10-11 am and the service will begin at 11 am. A luncheon will follow. Burial will be held at the Lakeview Cemetery in Siren, WI. Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home (P.O. Box 6, Webster, WI) is entrusted with her arrangements.

Please note: Connie loved flowers, purple, and vibrant colors. She was such a delightful presence in so many lives; rather than wearing black, we ask that you wear florals or bright colors to celebrate her life and honor the memory of this beautiful soul.
