Obituary for James Kevin Gunderson
James Kevin Gunderson, age 65,of Danbury, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully at home on April 26, 2023.
James was born on August 13, 1957 in Chicago, Illinois, and grew up in Palatine, Illinois. Jim was
self-employed in roofing and construction for over 40 years.
Jim was known for his love of gardening and spent countless hours tending to flowers and plants in his
yard and home. He was always busy with a variety of projects and was a legendary storyteller. Jim loved
to grill and entertain and enjoyed hosting countless parties for family and friends, where his home
created the backdrop for even more great stories.
Jim is survived by his son Dustin (Natasha) Gunderson, older brothers Blair (Verla) Gunderson, Duane
“Dewey” (Susan) Gunderson, younger sister Michele "Shelly" (John) Glomski, three grandchildren, Landen, Remy, and Charlett, five nephews, Paul, Denny, Mitch, Matt, and Roger and two nieces, Heather and
Loretta. He was preceded in death by his parents, Laverne and Maxine.
While he will be missed so much by family and friends, we should all find solace in knowing that Jimmy is
probably enjoying a pig roast and some ice-cold drinks at his forever luau. “Chop chop! Pretty good,
pretty good!”
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at 11:00 AM (visitation 10-11 AM) at Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home, Webster.
