Obituary for Kimel L Johnson
Kimel L. Johnson, 57, of Siren, passed away on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, MN.
Kimel was born in St. Croix Falls on March 6, 1964, to Opal (Loberg) and Erwin Johnson. He was baptized and confirmed at the Zion Church in Trade Lake.
Kimel attended Oak Hill Country School in Luck, WI and graduated from Frederic High School in 1982.
Kimel lived in Burnett County for all of his life. He worked at a few factories and two different farms until he went on disability. He loved spending time outdoors, farming, gardening flowers, fishing, and hunting. He also enjoyed music, movies, watching polka dancing every Saturday afternoon with his mother, cheering on the Green Bay Packers, and watching Wheel of Fortune. He loved animals, especially their kitty, Niffy.
Kimel is preceded in death by his father, Erwin Johnson; brother, Todd Johnson; maternal grandparents, Esther and Oscar Loberg; and paternal grandparents, Rose and Albin Johnson.
He will be greatly missed by his mother, Opal Johnson; brother, Lamar (Sandy) Johnson; nephews, Jared (Laura) Johnson, Blake (Alex) Johnson, Mitchell Johnson; niece, Brittany Johnson; great nephew, Asher Johnson; along with many other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, February 2 at 11:30 a.m. (visitation 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.) at Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home in Siren. Pastor John Petersen will be officiating. Interment will follow the service at Union Cemetery in Trade Lake Township, WI.
