Obituary for Troy Michael Hanson

Troy M. Hanson, age 40, a resident of San Antonio, Texas passed away unexpectedly on July 6, 2022.

Troy, the son of Ronald and Brenda Hanson was born on March 26, 1982 at Grand Forks Air Force Base, North Dakota. He grew up and attended schools and churches in Florida, Nebraska, California, and Texas as part of a military family. He was an excellent student receiving many honors. He was baptized and made a confession of faith at the age of 13.

Troy was a 2000 graduate of Grantsburg High School. He went on to attend the University of Texas San Antonio graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. He went on to work for Consor Engineers LLC, working as an engineer in San Antonio.

Troy loved visiting family in Wisconsin! He enjoyed hunting, fishing, grilling, loved music and playing his guitar. He truly loved talking about old times that brought back good and happy memories. His memory of past events was amazing! Troy lived a simple life. He was content with what he had and never wanted anything extra. His love shined through his smile as his heart was so kind and generous.

Troy was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Mary Ann Davis and paternal grandmother, Norma Hanson.

He is survived by his parents, Ron and Brenda; his brother, Travis (Meghan) Hanson; his grandfathers, Bob Davis and Earl Hanson; his aunts and uncles, Judy (George) Goblish, Donna Kozumplik, John Hanson, James (Galina) Hanson, Sharon (Brett) Ilgen, Renee (Jim) Hanson, Jennifer (David) Barington, Steve Davis, Mark Davis and Paul Davis; his niece, Lola Hanson along with many cousins, other relatives, coworkers, and many friends.

Troy was deeply loved and a blessing to our family. He will be truly missed.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at 11:00 AM (visitation 10-11 AM) at Calvary Covenant Church in Alpha. Interment will follow at Wood Lake Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Travis Hanson, Corey Smestad, Caleb Hanson, Aaron Hanson, Seth Ilgen and Jessey Davis.
